Canoe and Kayak Head Coach Needed

The Kenmore Canoe and Kayak Club is looking for head coach for its small canoe and kayaking group. You can determine your programs and schedule to fit your availability with your students in mind as well. There are currently some very dedicated sprint boat paddlers who enjoy and thrive on being on the water on a regular basis.

The Kenmore Canoe and Kayak Club (KCKC) is a part of the Kenmore Waterfront Activities Center, a 501 (C) (3), based out of Squires Landing Park on NE 175th in Kenmore. This position could either be paid by deducting from the program’s revenues or on a volunteer basis. If you’re interested and would like more information, feel free to contact me at info@kenmore.wac.org.

President, Kenmore Waterfront Activities Center (KWAC)

Fee Structure

There are four levels of membership within the Kenmore Canoe and Kayak Club (KCKC). All levels of membership will receive a welcome letter, a t-shirt, and invitation to all seminars as well as all social functions. Please note that all programs require an annual $20 KWAC facilities fee. We also have scholarships available for low income residents of Kenmore.

  • Introductory level $50 @ year

This membership is open to anyone, whether or not you own your own equipment.  A punch card will be issued entitling the member to try three dragon boat practices, and three canoe/kayak practices.

  • Tag-Along level $120 @ year

This membership targets those who have their own equipment and know how to paddle.  They will be able to “tag-along” with any one of the canoe/kayak classes as long as they don’t pose a hindrance to the class.

  • Recreational level
    • $75 @ month/$50 per family member w/o equipment.
    • $50 @ month/$25 per family member with equipment.

This membership includes learn to paddle instructions, training programs and seminars.  The emphasis is on technique and encourages those who wish to focus on the recreational and fitness side of the sport.  This level includes a membership to the SFDBC and a yet to be determined participation amount of time with WhatsSup.  The hope is to provide cross-training between any member who wishes that avenue.

  • Competitive level
    • $75 @ month Nov 15-Mar 1, $50 per family member w/o equipment.
    • $50 @ month Nov 15-Mar 1, $25 per family member with equipment.
    • $100 @ month Mar 2-Nov 14, $75 per family member w/o equipment.
    • $75 @ month Mar 2-Nov 14, $50 per family member with equipment.

This membership is available to those paddlers who have the basic skills of paddling and the desire to continue on a competitive level.  They will have a set training program which will incorporate on the water training as well as in a “classroom” type setting.  They must show a passion for participating on a team and be willing to be involved in growing the sport in the community.  They will be the ambassadors for KWAC and Kenmore Canoe and Kayak Club paddling out of Squires Landing Park in Kenmore, Washington.
